Jay Stuemke

For over 25 years, I have zealously advocated for plaintiffs’ rights across the country. My practice specializes in litigating complex cases involving products liability, toxic workplace and environmental exposures, wrongful death, and gross negligence. Because of my track record in these areas, I am frequently asked to serve as lead trial counsel to help maximize the value of complex cases for victims nationwide.

Background & Motivation I believe passionately in using the law to advance public safety. Throughout my career, I have been at the forefront of efforts to expose hidden dangers in consumer products and ensure that wrongdoers answer for their actions. My goal is to hold even the largest and most sophisticated corporations accountable.

My approach to litigation is grounded in deep preparation. I operate under the conviction that a lawyer cannot consistently win verdicts or recover substantial settlements without fully understanding three things: the client’s experience, the evidence showing the defendant’s responsibility, and the science that proves it. In every case I try, I am committed to delving into the details of these elements to maximize my client’s recovery and the probability of a successful verdict.

Current Focus & Media Currently, my efforts to promote safety among visitors to Hawai’i have received international media attention. I have been featured in USA Today, News Nation, Fox News, The Independent (UK), the New York Post, Business Insider, and legal magazines including Texas Lawyer.

Life Outside the Courtroom Outside of the courtroom, I enjoy spending time with my wife and law partner, Deanna, our three children, and our three dogs. We love hiking, biking, going to the beach, and embracing the Hawaii lifestyle as much as possible. You can frequently find us cheering at our youngest child’s swim meets in Hawaii and on the mainland. Above all, we enjoy spending as much time as possible with our family.
